Please take time to read the candle care tips prior to lighting your candles. If you purchased a candle from us, you should have received candle care instructions with your order which directed you to this page for additional tips.
-NEVER LEAVE A BURNING CANDLE UNATTENDED
- NEVER BURN A CANDLE WHILE SLEEPING
-NEVER TOUCH A CANDLE WHILE IT IS BURNING
-KEEP LIT CANDLES AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS
-BURN CANDLE ON A HEAT RESISTANT SURFACE
- KEEP CANDLES AWAY FROM CEILING FANS, HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS AND VENTS
-IF A CANDLE HAS MORE THAN ONE WICK, ENSURE BOTH WICKS ARE BURNING AT THE SAME TIME-TO PREVENT TUNNELING.
When lighting your candles for the VERY FIRST TIME: Ensure the wax burns evenly and there is a full melt pool (meaning the candle wax melted to the end of the candle jar). This will help prevent tunneling, extend the candles life and ensure a 'clean' burn. Tip: Candle should burn at least one hour for every inch of the candle's diameter.
Wick Centering: As you enjoy your candles, there may be an occasion when the wick may possibly become off centered. If this ever happens, please contact us at info@khessence.com so we can assist.
Important Note: If the wick needs to be moved, complete this task after extinguishing your flame and the wax has cooled. The wax should be soft to maneuver.
Trimming Your Wick: Trim your wick before each relight with a wick trimmer (available at any craft store) , using a pair of scissors or nail clippers. Trim your wick 1/4-1/8 in before lighting your candle, only when needed. This helps ensure an even burn that is free of soot and debris. In addition, trimming your wick helps your candle remain centered, thus preventing an uneven melt pool and minimized risk of shattered glass.
Our candles, depending on their size should burn a minimum of 6 hours.
Tip: If the wick has burned too long , your wick will begin to mushroom.
Mushroom-means the wick will begin to look like a ittle mushroom 🍄
Trim your wick once you blow out the flame.
Also, discontinue using the candle when ½-1/3 of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. This will prevent possible heat damage to the counter/surface and container. Once the candle is too low to burn, it can be placed on a candle warmer once it solidifies.
Wicked candles can sit on candle warmers too (don't light the wick).
*DO NOT place candles on candle warmers with melt pools less than 1/4 remaining. *
How to Extinguish A Candle: The best way to extinguish a candle is by using a wick dipper. These can be purchased on Amazon or at a local hobby store.
Another option is blowing out the candle and smothering it with the top (Metal or glass candle top only)
Note: NEVER smother a flame with a plastic top!
Tip: If your candle is burning uneven or tunneling, wrap a piece of aluminum foil around the candle to allow the candle to burn even.
MASSAGE OIL CANDLE DIRECTIONS
-Allow the candle to burn so there is an adequate pool of melted oil at the top; It usually takes about 10-15 mins for a pool.
-Blow out the candle and pour the warm oil into the palm of your hand. (Oil should be lukewarm to the touch) Rub and gently caress the massage oil onto the skin as needed. Repeat as needed.
Caution: Do not pour the oil on your body while the candle is still burning.
